About the Author

Jonathon Lunardi has been throwing discs for over 20 years in the Washington DC area. What started as a casual toss in a park turned into a lifelong passion for Ultimate Frisbee, and eventually into this guide.

On any given weekend, you'll find Jonathon at the Nolte Local Park Sunday morning pickup game (where the experienced crowd gathers) or at the Hyattsville Saturday afternoon game (where all skill levels mix and learn from each other). He coaches his sons Luke and Eric, holds DC Breeze season tickets, and officiates UFA games on the sideline.

This book grew out of a simple realization: the best Ultimate Frisbee wisdom lives in the heads of the people who play, not in textbooks. So Jonathon went out and had conversations. He interviewed founding era pioneers who were there when the sport began, professional AUDL MVPs, world champions, coaches with 30+ year track records, and the Saturday afternoon pickup player who just figured out how to throw a flick.
